Project Activities

Establishing cooperation with the police for the purposes of strategic cooperation for the benefit of victims of bias-motivated violence. The established cooperationaims to prevent the secondary victimisation of these victims.

Strengthening the internal capacities of In IUSTITIA through a PR specialist as a necessary prerequisite for increased visibility of all project outcomes andvictims’needs, but also for increased visibility of In IUSTITIA’s activities.

Strategic litigation the benefit of victims of bias-motivated violence. They are legal cases that broaden the understanding of how the law is to be interpreted in

favour of victims of bias-motivated violence. In addition to helping individuals, strategic litigation cases will serve as a basis for drafting a legislative proposal.

Gaining knowledge and making it visible through:

  • Gathering existing knowledge on bias-motivated violence against LGBT+persons
  • Qualitative and quantitative research into the prevalence of bias-motivated violence among

people with disabilities, which will be the first of its kind in the Czech Republic.

  • Legal analyses of procedural barriers in access to justice faced by victims of bias-motivated violence in criminal proceedings.


These outputs and findings are a necessary requirement for drafting a legislative proposal as well as for drawing attention to the needs of victims.

Establishing cooperation and gaining involvement of people at risk of bias-motivated violence (LGBT+ persons, people with disabilities) in order to obtain support for the legislative proposal implementation, as well as to gather comments andfeedback on other projectoutcomes. 

Increased visibility of the needs of victims and advocacy campaign serving not only as a systemic support for the legislative proposal that

will be drafted as part of this activity.During the activity, the needs of victims of bias-motivated violence in criminal proceedings will be

made visible in various ways so that not only the professional but also the general public will be better acquainted with the needs of victims. Subsequently, the legislative proposal and its necessity will be made visible in various ways among the actors of legislative change.
